Leytonstone Synagogue Sunday 2nd Sept
On Sunday 2nd September, the Shul’s community held a sponsored walk retracing the walk that Rabbi Brackman makes every Shabbat from Stamford Hill to Leytonstone and Wanstead Synagogue.
Joining this group were a few of the Stamford Hill supporters who have also made the trek to Leytonstone on various Shabbats over the past year, including Mr Yakov Korer whose son Rabbi Mendy Korer is also helping to revive the Islington Jewish community and the historic Sandy’s Row Synagogue, Rabbi Shmuel Lew the senior Chabad emissary to London and Danny Wolff, who takes the Mitzvah Tank to Golders Green every Friday.
Drosha Stops
The walk was punctuated by talks at various stopping points along the way, and culminated in the community’s attendance at the Mincha service at the Lubavitch Synagogue in Stamford Hill followed by a farbrengen.
The walk symbolised the Shul community's commitment to the continuing revival of this Synagogue, and was the perfect opportunity to form even stronger bonds between Leytonstone and Stamford Hill.
