New year message from the Federation of Synagogues
Dear Members
The new Jewish year, 5778, marks a significant milestone for the Federation: it represents 130 years since the organisation’s founding, in 1887, with the goal of bringing like-minded authentic Orthodox shuls together under one communal umbrella; to pool resources and provide greater religious services to the kehilla.
In 2017, our communities may have evolved and moved to different locations, but our objectives remain the same. Indeed, as members of today’s Federation, we have a great deal to be proud of in our revitalised organisation: vibrant communities, young and rapidly expanding new shuls coming on board and joining our Federation family, innovative publications and dynamic services as well as world renowned and resurgent Beis Din and our expanding KF Kashrus Authority to name but a few.
My fellow Trustees and I look forward to engaging with you in the coming year, to engender further growth and development for the Federation and the wider kehilla.
In the meantime I would like to take the opportunity of wishing you a kesiva v’chasima tova, and a shana tova for 5778.
